Zhianawa Cancer Center (ZCC) is a public, tertiary cancer care facility dedicated for radiotherapy since its establishment in March 2009. ZCC is not only covering the cancer patients in Sulaymaniyah governorate, but its patients are coming from all the regions of Kurdistan and Iraq. All the services of ZCC are free-of-charge.
ZCC is following the state-of-art advances in radiation oncology. Currently, it is equipped with two modern linear accelerators (with IMRT – IGRT features) and one HDR brachytherapy suite (of Co60 radioactive source) and the near-future plan to expand the services to additional two accelerators.
To exand the relations of ZCC in order to improve its services, ZCC signed some agreements (Memorandum of Understanding) with some international oncology centers in India, Tukey and USA. Moreover, ZCC became the only organization member in the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
